8 weeks
Value proposition
For nightlife goers who wants to find cool places to go out without putting in to much effort, Spotlight is a smart nightlife planning platform that provides all the Information they need in one place, suggests the best spots based on their tastes, keeps them up to date, and allows them to share the experience of choosing with their friends.
Step 01
Empathy
For this project, I started with desk research to create hypotheses about the target audience, followed by sharing a survey to gather insights. Based on the responses, I selected five participants for in-depth user interviews, where I explored their experiences, motivations and challenges.

Initially, the projects objective was to create a nightlife app focused on parties and clubs. However, during the interviews, I noticed that the user's needs were broader than that, so the initial idea evolved to include all types of places, such as restaurants and other events.

How Might We?
How might we provide real-live exposure about local popular events to night-life goers and create
a seamless all-in-one experience?

Persona 01

Persona 02
With these two personas, I was able to represent my two types of target audience: people looking for more intimate places to go out with family, such as restaurants, and people looking for places to have fun and go out with friends, such as clubs.

Site map
After the interviews, the idea of incorporating AI into the project emerged. As a result, I added the "Find My Perfect Spot" feature to the site map, where user can answer a new questions and, with the help of AI to analyze their preferences, the app will suggest the perfect place for them. With that, and after creating task flows, and doing competitor and reference research, the sketching phase began.

Step 05
Test
I conduct user testing with both low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes to gather feedback at different stages of the design process. These tests provided valuable insights that guided iterative improvements, ensuring the app met user needs effectively.
Step 06
Next steps
-
Continue testing with at least two more users and start applying the improvents.
-
Adjust the motion in the prototype and refine visual guidelines.
-
Change the login step so that users have the option to use the app without creating an account.
